ROAR Basketball (2017-2018)

Sign Ups begin on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 

$89- Early Bird Special (September 6-October 11)  
$99-  Regular Sign Up (October 11 and after)

(Cost includes: Shirt, Trophy for K-Ball, Prep, and NCAA leagues, 8 games, practices, equipment, and processing fees. NCAA, NBA and WNBA League will use Paid Referees. If interested in Refereeing, please go to “About” then to “Employment Opportunities”)

K- Ball: 5 year old Kindergartners (5v5 Half Court with 6.5′ goals)

PREP (Co-Ed): 1st-2nd grades (5v5 Half Court with 7.5′ goals)

NCAA (Co-Ed): 3rd- 4th grades (5v5 Half Court with 8.5′ goals)

NBA (Males): 5th-6th grades (5v5 Full Court with 10′ goals)

WNBA (Females): 5th-7th grades (5v5 Full Court with 10′ goals)

PARENTS: We don’t have just an opportunity for kids but even YOU!!! We would love to have YOU help us coach basketball this winter. We are in need of coaches so please sign up to be a coach when you register your child. We are looking for 26 Head Coaches and 26 Assistant Coaches. If you have any questions, please contact the ROAR Office.

Please note when signing up that requests or preferences indicated (such as nights of practice, friend requests, carpooling, etc.) cannot be guaranteed. We will do our best to meet these but cannot guarantee they will happen.

Registration closes when each Division is full. You will automatically be placed on a waiting list and receive an email if you are placed on a team.

ROAR Basketball Important Dates

Mandatory Skills Day: Monday, October 23, 2017 (NCAA, NBA, and WNBA Leagues only)

NCAA- 3rd graders: 6:00pm (5:45pm Registration and Warm Up) — Westminster Gym
NCAA- 4th graders: 7:00pm (6:45pm Registration and Warm Up) — Westminster Gym

WNBA: 6:00pm (5:45pm Registration and Warm Up) — First Baptist Gym
NBA: 7:00pm (6:45pm Registration and Warm Up) — First Baptist Gym

Skills Day is not a try-out but just an assessment of player skills to allow us to build teams to compete on the same skill level.  Players will arrive at their designated time at Westminster Gym to play around and for staff/coaches to help assist. Please know, this is to make all teams as equal as possible.  The only team request we will grant for families are specific nights they can practice during the week.  You can request specific practice days in the comments section at sign-up.

Practices: Mondays or Tuesdays: November 13-January 30 (Nov 13 or 14, 27 or 28, Dec 4 or 5, 11 or 12, Jan 1 or 2, 15 or 16, 29 or 30)

Practice Locations: (1 hour practice per week)
KBall and Prep– Westminster Church (Monday or Tuesday Nights) at 5:45pm, 6:15pm or 7:00pm
NCAA, NBA, and WNBA– First Baptist Church (Monday or Tuesday Nights) at 5:30pm, 6:30pm or 7:30pm

Thanksgiving Break: Monday, November 20, 2017 to Friday, November 24, 2017

Games: (JR ROAR does not have games on weekends. Just weekday clinics)

The season at Upward Stars York County will begin in mid February and run through the spring so come to ROAR to get started and finish strong with Upward Stars!
