ROAR MLS & USL teams provide opportunities for children with disabilities to play soccer, regardless of their abilities.

This program is headed up by Sally Young. The goal is to create a place where families can come and fellowship while playing the game of soccer at Westminster Park on India Hook Road! We want each kid to feel special regardless of their skill set.

Divisions:

ROAR USL (Ages 5-8) - 12 athletes
This skill building program is for individuals with disabilities to learn the fundamental skills including positions, dribbling, passing, and how to control the soccer ball.  ROAR Lions will support this program by partnering with athletes as they learn the basics of soccer.  Soccer cleats and shinguard's are required, uniforms will be provided.  

This program is for individuals with disabilities to further develop their soccer skills through structured training and competition.  Athletes will participate in weekly practices and games. The commitment will be two hours a week. Soccer cleats and shinguard's are required, uniforms will be provided.

To ensure the Health and Safety of our guests, ROAR Sports has had to make a number of changes in how we manage practices and game. We want every participant to have fun and stay safe while playing Roar Sports.  Please review the Roar Sports Fall Covid-19 Guidelines to see the steps we are taking.

Practice Schedule: 

Practices will take place on Tuesday Night. (Thursday Nights are Make Up nights if rain occurs).

• 6:45 pm - USL Scheduled Practice Time (45 minutes) - Upper Field 4
• 5:45 pm - MLS Scheduled Practice Time (60 minutes) - Lower Field 2A
  

Uniforms:

All players will receive a ROAR Jersey. The jerseys will be distributed at the practice the week before the first games. NOTE: Shorts and socks will not be included in the package but we ask that all players wear black shorts on game days!  All players are expected to provide their own cleats and shinguard's.

8 Soccer Games will be played on Saturday Mornings at Westminster Park.

ROAR is seeking 8 middle school students to volunteer to assist in training athletes with special needs. The primary focus of this league is to develop friendships, foster understanding, and break barriers.

ROAR Lion Checklist:

In 7th or 8th grade only
Willingness to learn & teach soccer
Preferred soccer experience
Must apply through online application, be approved, then complete signup  ROAR Lion Application
Attend Training Day
Commitment to this team (2 hours per week) - assist with practices and games
Responsible
Possible service hours needed
Ready to have some fun!

This is a chance for our coaches to meet our ROAR Lions and get to know them. There will also be some instruction given as well as information. Parents are encouraged to attend.

6-7 Soccer Games will be played on Saturday Mornings at Westminster Park and 1-2 during the weekday practice time.
